Whether you are a customer or an artist you will need to register in order to buy or sell art on amacoola.com.

Click on REGISTER on the home page and you will be prompted to fill out a form with your personal details. Tab to each field, following the prompts, filling in your personal information and contact details (email address is important). Create a user name and password. Check the relevant boxes and once completed click on SEND REGISTRATION.

You will receive an email confirming your registration with amacoola.com. Click on the link provided to confirm your email adress. You will then be approved to login. You can now login on the home page using your user name and password.

The ideal photo will capture the entire hanging space including a small amount of both ceiling and floor. The average vertical dimension of a room is 240cm. Use the slide rule provided to adjust this. This "hang your art" tool will give you a very good idea of what your chosen painting will look like on your wall.

Browse around the site and select any piece of artwork to hang in a room of your choice. Click the “hang" button, use the slider to set your wall height and then use the to "Browse" field to select your room image off your computer. Once you have selected the image, click "Upload" and your room will appear on the amacoola page. Drag and drop your painting onto your image wall. Provided you have specified the correct vertical dimension for your room, the painting will be resized accordingly. Give it a try, it’s a fantastic tool.

Clicking on "Buy" will place the artwork in your basket. If you have a Gift card, enter the number in the coupon field provided, otherwise click on CHECKOUT to continue the purchase process. You will be required to confirm your shipping address before proceeding to the next step. Should you need to add or change an address you can do it here. Click NEXT to proceed through the steps.

Review the data provided, agree to the Terms of Service and CONFIRM THE ORDER.

At the next step you will be required to provide your payment details. amacoola.com will accept Visa and MasterCard. All numbers must be entered with no spaces or dashes. Once your payment has been successfully processed, you will receive a confirmation email from VCS, the payment gateway. amacoola.com are pleased to offer our very own packaging and shipping service, where we collect the artwork from the artist and deliver it to you, the customer, wherever you are around the world - safely, securely and fully insured. The shipping, handling and processing charges (SHP) are added to the price of the artwork during checkout.

You will note that shipping rates vary according to size, weight, and final destination of the painting. There are additional charges for artworks shipped internationally dependant on the destination country. All items ship from South Africa as the country of origin. Items that are shipped internationally cannot be returned unless they are delivered to you in a damaged condition. If this occurs, you need to immediately notify both the shipper and amacoola.com. Please refer to our Returns and Refunds policy. 

what is the delivery time for my purchased artwork?

The delivery times depend on the destination of the artwork. Pieces shipped to destinations within South Africa will be delivered within 10-14 working days while an international shipment can generally take up to 21 working days. As soon as your order has been placed you will receive an email confirming your purchase. Once your order has shipped (usually within 4 business days), you will be notified by email and a tracking number will be assigned to you so that you can track and trace the progress of your delivery at will. amacoola.com will monitor the progress of your delivery at every stage so as to ensure a seamless process.

what should I do if my artwork has been damaged during shipment?

You, the buyer must not accept delivery of the shipment until the artwork has been properly inspected for damage together with the delivery agent. If the artwork appears damaged upon delivery, contact us. Depending on the circumstances, we will arrange to have the artwork collected and inspected by the same shipping agent within 12 hours of delivery, and the shipping agent will return the artwork to the artist. Please ensure you keep all the original packaging materials so as to return the shipment in the same packaging it was delivered in.

refund process

Refunds will only be issued if the correct procedure for amacoola.com’s Returns and Refunds policy is followed.

Once the artist has received the returned artwork in its original state and within the allotted return period, the artist will notify amacoola.com and a full refund minus the insurance, shipping and admin fee associated with the purchase will be credited to the credit card that was used for payment of the artwork.amacoola.com will keep you updated as to the status of your return through e-mail, and you will be reimbursed within 30 days of the return process.
There will be no returns or refunds on commissioned artworks or artworks delivered outside of South Africa unless damage has occurred during shipment.

All amacoola.com artists that offer commissioned work can be found on the menu under MARKETPLACE, COMMISSIONS. Before you can commission artwork or request a quote for comissioned artwork, you will need to be registered on amacoola.com. Do this by selecting REGISTER on the home page and completing the online form.

how do commissions work?

The way commissions work is simple! You find the artist you want to commission, you request an on-line quote, and then you either accept or reject the quote.

commissions in detail

1. from the amacoola.com home page, select MARKETPLACE off the menu and then COMMISSIONS.
2. complete the on-line form with details of the commissioned work you require. You will need to include a fairly detailed description of your requirement as well as dimensions of the artwork. Should you have colour schemes in mind please inform us of these. If you have an image you wish to send to the artist that would assist in the commissioned artwork then do so using the upload button. The more information you give us the better!
3. amacoola.com will contact and liaise with the artist on your behalf, and the artist will establish the amacoola.com gallery price for the commissioned artwork
4. amacoola.com will notify you by email of the cost of the commission together with the packaging and shipping costs to have the final work delivered to your door
5. if you accept the quote and decide to proceed with the commissioned artwork, you will be required to pay amacoola.com a 50% deposit prior to the artist starting the commissioned work
6. once a confirmed order for the commissioned artwork has been received by amacoola.com, the artist will proceed with the commissioned artwork, and within 3 weeks, an image of the finished artwork will be sent to you
7. if you are happy with the commission, you will then pay the outstanding 50% of the invoice and your painting will be packaged, insured and shipped to your door
8. if you decide to cancel your order at any stage after amacoola.com has received the confirmed order for the commissioned artwork, amacoola.com will be entitled to retain the deposit, a portion of which will be paid to the artist in lieu of work done on the commission.
9. similarly, if you reject the final work, there will be no further payment necessary, but you will lose your initial deposit which will be used to reimburse the artist for work done, and the artist will be entitled to sell the commissioned artwork to another customer.
10. no returns will be accepted in respect of a commissioned artwork unless the artwork is delivered to you in a damaged condition, in which case you will need to refer to the amacoola.com Terms and Conditions of Sale in order to determine your position.

2. complete the on-line form with details of your shipment, this includes the collection address in South Africa (we only collect from South Africa at this stage but will deliver worldwide); the delivery address; the number of pieces you wish to ship; the dimensions; approximate weight and the value of each piece (value required for insurance purposes).
3. amacoola.com will contact you with an all-inclusive custom quote for your shipment
4. if you accept the quote and decide to proceed with the shipment, you will be required to pay amacoola.com the full amount up front prior to the shipment taking place
5. once a confirmed payment for the shipment has been received by amacoola.com, we will manufacture custom-sized packaging boxes built specifically for your artwork. This packaging will be delivered to your door / the collection point in South Africa where the artwork can be safely packaged
6. once packaged, we will notify our shipper, who will collect the packaged artwork from you
7. the shipment will be fully insured from the moment it leaves your door to the point of delivery
8. all international shipments will be subject to inspection by customs officials
